Kayla Itsines vs Jen Ferruggia – Bikini Body Guide Review
There are quite a few bikini body workout programs available for women to try nowadays. My goal with this blog is to make it as easy as possible for you to pick the one that most directly caters to your needs. Do you want to exercise every day? Just most of the week? Looking for a certain price range? Then lets look at Kayla Itsines Bikini Body Guide vs Jen Ferruggia’s Bikini Body workout – two of the most popular workouts and ones that vary greatly from each other.
NOTE: I only got access to these workouts by paying for them, enabling me to go through the entire process that any of you might (customer support, reading through, etc) rather than being given free review copies or even discount codes. I will note that while they have a few things in common, these guides manage to be TOTALLY different.

Bikini Body Guide vs Bikini Body Workout
Let’s dig right into this comparison, shall we? I’ll announce the winner of each category at the end of each section, so if you want to skip my explanation and just see who wins what, just skip down to the “Winner” line.
Both Jen Ferruggia and Kayla Itsines sell their products digitally, meaning that once you purchase the ebooks you can download the PDFs immediately. Their formatting allows you to transfer them to your computer, laptop, tablet, or mobile phone easily, and you can therefore access them whenever and however you desire.
Both women sells their programs through digital processors as well, with Jen Ferruggia using ClickBank while Kayla Itsines uses Stripe.
Winner in Efficiency: It’s a tie! Both programs use respectable, established payment processors (ClickBank was started in 1998, Stripe in 2011) to ensure that you get your digital download immediately.
Which guide is simplest to follow? They both are! I’ve tried workouts like Cross Fit before, and while certainly healthy, some of the movements they have you do are incredibly intimidating, especially for novices when it comes to weight lifting.
Thankfully, neither of these workout plans have any guides that are as difficult as that. You can pretty much get your PDF and know immediately what the exercises are by their name or the demonstration.
Winner in Simplicity: It’s another Tie! Both women cater their programs toward beginners, so there’s not much complicated movement or action in them.
This is sort of a branch off of simplicity – comparing which guide is the clearest in its instructions. Just because you know what an exercise is, doesn’t mean you necessarily perform it properly (mind-muscle connection and proper form play a HUGE role in seeing good results with an exercise).
Kayla provides pictures to go along with her workouts, a set of two pictures (one at the start of the exercises and one during the main “contraction”), which is an OK guide, but not super descriptive. Compare that to Ferruggia, who actually gives you explicit details as well as video instructions to show you step-by-step how to do the exercises properly.
Winner in Instruction: Jen Ferruggia’s Bikini Body Workout. Her approach to it reminds me of an effective school teacher – it’s not condescending, it’s just thorough and it’s very much appreciated.
Another VERY important category. Which guide gives you access to a good customer support system, incase you have issues with the workout or even with the very purchasing of the workout?
Both workout programs come with customer support offered, but when I actually reached out to them these were the results:
With Jen Ferruggia, I sent 2 emails from 2 different accounts. One was an email asking about any potential coupon code offerings. The other was an email requesting help with a problem opening the PDF (an issue I made up). On both occasions, Ferruggia’s support team answered me within 24 hours (12-14 hours was the longest I had to wait).
I sent these same 2 emails to Kayla Itsines’ support. It took me 4 days to hear back about the discount code “sorry, we don’t offer them” in a curt email. I didn’t receive a response at all about an issue opening the PDF guide.

Level of Ease
Both workouts are able to be completed from the comfort of your home, which is a major plus. However, you’re likely going to need a gym membership if you use Kayla’s guide, just because so much of what she uses in the program is uncommon to household gyms (foam roller, yoga mat, medicine ball, jump rope, kettlebell, etc.). This is probably going to cost around a hundred dollars to buy yourself.
With Jen’s guide, you only need the more common pieces of equipment (chair, rope, resistance band) to do her workout.
Winner in Ease: Jen Ferruggia’s Bikini Body Workout. Less required of you if you want to stay at home and get a good workout in.
Both workouts are safe enough to use! However, Kayla provides an entire section for advice on how to best stay injury free – something that was definitely missing from Jen’s guides.
Winner in Safety: Kayla Itsines’ Bikini Body Guide.
When you purchase the complete Bikini Body Workout from Jen Ferruggia, you get access to 35 video demonstrations of the workouts and 3 ebooks: the Gym Workout, the Home Workout, and the Diet Plan. She also throws in the Booty Blast program to help tone up your butt specifically.

Winner In Extras: Jen Ferruggia’s Bikini Body Workout. 4 Different ebooks and several video demonstrations? Yes please!
AKA Refund period – can you get a refund? How long can you try out a particular workout plan? Because Jen’s guide is sold through ClickBank, you are automatically entitled to a 60-day money-back guarantee. That means you have a full two months that you can try out the program essentially risk-free. Unfortunately, there is no such guarantee that comes with the Kayla Itsines Bikini Body Guide.
Winner in Guarantee: Jen Ferruggia’s Bikini Body Workout. It takes confidence to offer such a deal!
We’ve been showing how different these workout plans truly are, but this is the one category where that is not the case. Both of these programs are extremely effective at what they do – helping you slim down fast and reach your ideal bikini body. Kayla’s guide is more suited for people with more free time, as her workout calls for you exercise every day for 30 minutes (no rest days!) Jen’s program is more flexible, with you needing to workout 30-45 minutes 4 days a week. At the end of the week, the times spent working out just about even out.
Winner in Effectiveness: It’s a tie! Both workouts are good at what they do, you just need to pick how much time throughout the week you’ll be able to dedicate to them.
Here is a HUGE difference between the two programs. The BBG 1.0 is about half the entire Bikini Body Guide and costs $69.97. Then, there’s the BBG 2.0 that also costs $69.97. AND the HELP Nutrition Guide, her meal plan – which is an ADDITIONAL $69.97! Meanwhile, with Jen Ferruggia’s workout, you pay $29.98 and get her entire level 1 workout (although I paid $49.98 for the level 2 workout as well, which was well worth it in my opinion) and she throws in a FREE Diet Plan.
Winner in Cost: Jen Ferruggia’s Bikini Body Workout. You get much more for your money, and as I reviewed earlier, the content of these workouts is pretty much the same.
Conclusion – Jen or Kayla?
Both of these workouts are incredibly effective, but overall Jen’s Bikini Body Workout trumps Kayla Itsines’s Bikini Body guide.
